Ideology......

In the initial session, the therapist typically will ask certain questions about you and your life. This information helps make an initial assessment of your situation. The therapist will focus on understanding your presenting concerns. For example, because family situations play an important role in who you are, your family history and your current family situation may be explored. Symptoms of emotion and psychological distress are assessed and provide information to better understand your concerns. The client is encouraged to ask questions about the therapy process and the treatment approach.
